The Genuine Fakes’ debut album The Striped Album was released on December 1st, 2010 after several years of hard work in the studio.It was released by Pristine Media Productionsand the physical release of the album was on January 17, 2011 (EU).Three digital singles were released for The Striped Album. I Don’t Want It, When Reality Hits You and the Beyoncé cover Irreplaceable.

In Japan the album was released by Thistime Records on Febrary 2nd, 2011. The Japanese edition included four bonus tracks – Earnest Endeavor, Time Is Slight, Somehow Everything (Posies cover) and The Genuine Fakes (8 bit version) and can be be ordered from the Thistime Records online Shop!

The Spanish label Rock Indiana Records released the album in Spain. Furthermore, the album was released in the US through Kool Kat Music. All who buy the US-edition of the album will get a purchaser bonus in the form of a bonus CD containing five previously unreleased tracks! The US edition can be ordered here.

In 2009 the band released a X-mas cover of Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas using the characteristic sound created by the Fakes’. In addition to this the band has featured on various compilations such as Beautiful Escape: The Songs of The Posies Revisited.
