Sara Rumar opens for The Genuine Fakes at The Southside Cavern
26 MarWe are pleased to announce that Stockholm based Sara Rumar will open for The Genuine Fakes at The Southside Cavern gig on March 31.
Sara has released two albums; Stupid like me in 2006 and Why? Because. When? Now in 2007. In addition to that she recently released the single Stick To Diamonds that you can listen to on her MySpace-page or on Spotify.

Video shoot and ROQ
7 MayThis Saturday The Genuine Fakes are making the video for “I Don’t Want It”. The band needs extras/audience so if you’re in town and you want to be in the video, check out the event on Facebook.
Furthermore, The Genuine Fakes joins Winston and The O-kult at ROQ in Stockholm later the same evening for a rawkin’ show. Check out the live calendar for more info.

Beautiful Escape Update

The 35 song, triple disc Posies tribute album “Beautiful Escape – The Songs of The Posies Revisited” will be released on May 20. There will be a release party at Nuemo’s in Seattle at a Posies concert on May 17th. It’s bound to be a great show! Plans are also in the works for a release party in Stockholm since so many Swedish acts have contributed tracks to the album. Nothing official yet though.
The Genuine Fakes’ contribution, “Somehow Everything”, was aired on WMEL Radio last night. It’s being added to a bunch of different radio shows in the US and Australia at the moment. It’s also posted on the Beautiful Escape MySpace again, so if you haven’t heard it yet just head on over there and have a listen.
New tour dates
3 MarCheck out the new tour dates. The Genuine Fakes are opening up for Thunder Express at Mosebacke on March 27. On April 28 they’re joining The Man at Obaren.
Gig in Stockholm
26 FebDon’t miss The Genuine Fakes’ first proper live show in Stockholm since March of 2007. On Thursday of this week (Feb. 28) they make their return to Alcazar at Nalen and will showcase material from the recent recording sessions. It’s powerpop night! Who’d want to miss that? Doors open at 7.00 pm, TGF are on at 9.30 pm sharp. Free entrance!
Showcase at Pet Sounds Bar
29 MayTomorrow night The Genuine Fakes will do a showcase at Pet Sounds Bar in Stockholm. It’s free entrance. Joey will also do a solo set. Also on stage: The Man, Katie Goes to Tokyo and Philip Black.
