Yesterday I just shaved it off! For the first time in 2+ years the upper lip is bare and it feels soooo naked… Weird feeling…

While trimming my mustache the other day I started thinking about all of the fabulous mustaches out there - you’ve got the Faker-style thin mustache or the Magnum-style mega thick stache etc.

A great place to find all sorts of serious and fun facts about the good ol’ stache is the American Mustache Institute.

The Genuine Fakes [är] fyra mustaschprydda herrar i kortärmade svarta skjortor, byxor i olika färger och matchande randiga slipsar. De spelar indiepop som doftar 90-tal och Weezer. Till och med covern på Beyonces låt ”Irreplaceable” är bra, men de är inte så konstigt för allt Genuine Fakes gör är galet bra.

Are you strong enough to fake it? Det är i alla fall de tre stockholmskillarna i The Genuine Fakes, som gjorde en skön och fartfylld spelning på Seattle på lördagen. Som första band under den andra och avslutande festivaldagen fick de verkligen igång en fest som aldrig kommer vilja ta slut.

Bandet spelar rockig pop som det är riktigt svårt att stå still till. Johan, Mårten och Farsan kör sin grej och vi gillar det - med sina randiga tröjor och härliga mustascher kan man inte annat än charmas av dom. De är riktigt samspelta och med basistens och trummisens backup även på sångsidan känns bandet riktigt stabilt. En glad spelning, tre sköna killar och en publik som tillhandahåller med näsflöjtar kan ju inte vara annat än bra. Jag kommer i alla fall hålla koll på The Genuine Fakes i framtiden.
