All of the band members now have their very own individual MySpace accounts. They would very much like to meet the fans in a more personal way than through this site, so head on over to them and say hi! They can be found in the top row of the top friends. This also means that all the Fakes will blog individually and share touring experiences and studio progress and so on and so forth with you.

We decided to start individual MySpace accounts/blogs to keep you all updated on unofficial news from members of The Genuine Fakes.

For those of you who have frequented the band’s MySpace it’s no news that The Genuine Fakes are contributing a track to an upcoming Posies tribute album. It’s entitled “Beautiful Escape: The Songs of The Posies Revisited”, and this triple CD is slated for a release in late spring/early summer by Burning Sky Records. Prior to that, however, an advance EP will be released with four exclusive EP tracks along with one track from each of the three CDs in the album. The Genuine Fakes’ version of “Somehow Everything” is one of those three tracks, which is pretty awesome.
Right now The Genuine Fakes are the current featured artist profile over at the Beautiful Escape MySpace.
Also in the works is a three song EP, which is in the final stages of mixing. Look for it at

“Star” has moved into the KIAC Big 50 at Independent Artist Company. The spring tour is also coming together. Check Tour for more info.
