The Swedesplease music blog has compiled a very pleasant x-mas mix and of course The Genuine Fakes are covered together with The Hives, Hello Saferide, Jens Lekman etc. Swedesplease was the first daily mp3 blog devoted to Swedish music. It’s gone on to be recognized by Swedish Public Radio, Swedish press, The London Times, The Guardian, The Chicago Tribune and on and on.

We had a great gig at Slottstallarna in Växjö with great support from our fans and friends.

We played the original set for 40+ minutes including the Beyoncé cover Irreplaceable - the crowd demanded an encore and we were pleased to oblige with a heavy performance of the soon to be smash-hit Mindset

Yesterday I just shaved it off! For the first time in 2+ years the upper lip is bare and it feels soooo naked… Weird feeling…

While trimming my mustache the other day I started thinking about all of the fabulous mustaches out there - you’ve got the Faker-style thin mustache or the Magnum-style mega thick stache etc.

A great place to find all sorts of serious and fun facts about the good ol’ stache is the American Mustache Institute.

I think that The Wannadies is one of greatest bands in the world - I just don’t understand why they didn’t make it even bigger… Practically every song is a smash hit as far as I’m concerned!

The third clip is from their awesome song Hit. We attempted to play it once with a cover band but it is seriously difficult to get the guitars and rhythm right. The Wannadies are just so tight…

Ebbot – the fantastic vocals of The Soundtrack Of Our Lives – has done it again. A few days back I browsed through my music library to find some easy listening music for Molly Fake and re-discovered the fantastic album ”Bröderna Lindgren – Vuxen Barnmusik”. The nostalgia for us Swedes that grew up in the 70’s and 80’s is quite intense; just check out the album cover.

The guest list on this album is amazing; except for the Lindgren brothers the following stars has joined the line up: Kristofer Åström, Ebbot Lundberg, Swedish Tiger, Nina Ramsby, Martin Hederos, Mattias Alkberg, Vanna Rosenberg, Swing, Caroline Wennergren Asha Ali.

My favorite track is the second song on the album – En flugas väg (eng. The Path of a Fly).

Browsing YouTube I found this fantastic clip with Cheap Trick and the cast from “That 70’s Show”.

The song In the Street was originally performed by 70’s band Big Star. A cover-version of the song was recorded by Cheap Trick in 1999 for use as the theme song for the television show That 70’s Show. Great TV-show, great music and a cool video. Definitely worth checking out!

As you may or may not know - Joey Fake plays guitar in the hardcore band NUTMEG. A couple of years ago I substituted for the original keyboard player on their tour in Poland. NUTMEG plays melodic hardcore which is extremely far from powerpop. A big difference from traditional hardcore is the fantastic organ and wurlitzer tracks. I got so inspired by learning the NUTMEG songs that it really reflects on our up and coming album.

NUTMEG is now on Spotify with their debut album The Trigger. Check it out and listen on the fantastic hardcore tunes and especially the keyboards…

Sometimes you end up doing things that you could never dream about a few years ago… My daughter’s birthday party is coming up and I’m doing the sweets. Talk about being grown up!

One could argue that: Tommy Fake will bake a cake - to Molly Fake.
